Stadtpark (City-Park)

The Stadtpark is in the 1st District and is perfect for a quick run or relaxing in the lawn. In the park are some beautiful monuments, also there is the famous Ringstrasse going alongside as well a the Vienna River (not Danube) going through. The park is just a short walk away from the apartment.

Prater

Prater is a huge public park stretching all along to the Danube river. With over six square kilometers it offers everything from a tree lined boulevard used by thousands of runners and bikers to a natural reserve wetlands were you can see turtles and (harmless) snakes. The park is within walking distance (12minutes) of the apartment: Look up „Jesuitenwiese“, which is the perfect starting point to the Prater.

Donauinsel

The Donauinsel (Danube Island) is Island in the middle of the Danube stretching more than 20 kilometers. The whole island is for recreational purposes only, so apart from some restaurants and sport fields there is just nature. The Danube river on the left side is very calm, which makes it a very popular place to go swimming. In June the „Donauinselfest“ takes place, where world famous artists perform on various stages all along the island. The whole festival is free. With over 3 million visitors in three days it makes it the biggest open air festival in the world.

Boat Tours

From Schwedenplatz ( two tram stations from the flat) there are several boats tours. There is the „Twin City Liner“ going from Vienna to Bratislava and Back. Also there are a lot of boats going along the Danube river to different destinations and some are offering roundtrips where you can get catch the beautiful landscape near the Danube.

Bike Tours

For the most part Vienna is quite flat, which makes it ideal for bike trips. We recommend to rent bikes at „Radverleih Hochschaubahn“, located in the Prater. From there you can discover the Prater, the Donauinsel or anything else you want.
